SEATALK INTEGRATION
In the event of a man overboard situation, C Series and E
Series multifunction displays connected to a LifeTag system will
display the position at which the signal was lost and the alarm
raised. The display will also show the bearing from the vessel’s
current position back to the position at which the signal was
lost, thereby increasing the chances of a successful recovery.
LifeTag System Warning:
The Raymarine LifeTag system is only an aid to crew safety,
and must not be relied upon as the vessel's main crew safety
system. It is the responsibility of the captain and all crew
members to ensure that all safety instructions and procedures
are in place and obeyed with local requirements. Failure
to operate this system in accordance with the operating
instructions may result in unreliable or reduced system
performance.
THE BASIC SYSTEM
The basic LifeTag system consists of 2 LifeTags with straps, base
station and a LifeTag alarm.
LifeTag is a personal man overboard (MOB) system. If a crew member falls overboard,
or strays outside of range (typically 30'), contact with the base-station is broken and an
alarm will sound.
LifeTag is also SeaTalk compatible allowing MOB mode to be activated on Raymarine
C and E Series displays, ST60+ and ST290 instrument systems. When MOB mode is
activated, an emergency waypoint (999) is created together with a bearing to that
waypoint.
